Sarah & Chris' Story
We met on a school field trip our freshman year of high school. Chris asked to sit next to me on the bus ride back, and as we talked during that ride home, we were weaving the fabric that would end up our future. We dated through the end of high school and college, and were engaged after Chris graduated.
Why did you select Eastholme?
I have family members that live in Colorado so I have visited the state many times and always enjoyed it. After our first year of college, I talked Chris into taking a trip with me to Colorado. He ended up loving it. When we got engaged we knew we wanted to have it there. We were going to have a lot of family and friends coming from out of town and wanted to find a place where we could have everyone together. We found Eastholme online and decided it would be perfect for us. We liked the fact that we could rent out the whole house and everyone could stay in the same place.
It was beautiful. The day was overcast and a little rainy. We decided to have the ceremony outside in the gazebo despite the on and off rain. It was very serene and quiet. It was very calming to hear the raindrops hitting the roof and to be surrounded by the mountains. Our guests got a little wet, but didn't mind because of the scenic surroundings with the mountains and pine trees.
Originally the reception was supposed to be held outside, but due to inclement weather, we had to move it inside. Deborah did a fantastic job of moving all the centerpieces and table arrangement, and overall making the last minute change as seamless and smooth as possible. All of our family and friends were in one room and we had music playing and a great time.

Cake: Cake was also provided. It was simple and elegant, and was also delicious!
The Exit: Chris and I exited the courtyard area, where we went inside for a few minutes of alone time to catch our breath. Reverend Calvin came in, and we signed our marriage license.
Special Touches: The house added an "old world" charm to the entire event. It was modern to make it comfortable, but kept many of the unique touches that added a little extra to the weekend.
What made your wedding unique: We didn't have anything unique. We wanted the entire weekend to be simple, uncomplicated, and relaxing for everyone. We wanted everyone to feel as though they were just on a weekend jaunt to the mountains, and it turned out great!
What Would You Do Different: Chosen a day with better weather (out of our control, but still only snag of the weekend)
Our Advice: Take your time and don't stress out! Try to not get caught up in all the planning, and enjoy the process…you'll look back one day and remember the planning process, so make it a good memory!
The Wedding Professionals Involved
Ceremony & Reception: Eastholme
Event Planner: Deborah Rice. She did an amazing job. She was always calm and collected and she respected our wishes. We couldn't have done it without her!
Invitations/Programs: We ordered the invitations online. They were beautiful and inexpensive.
Photographer: Cheryl, owner of Cheryl's Photography. She was very patient with all the family members gathering for the pictures.
DJ/Musicians: We had harpist Joni Martin play for our ceremony. She was so easy to work with. We asked her if she could play "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles for the recessional. She learned the song just for the ceremony and it sounded beautiful.
Wedding Gown: Steven Yearick, Trumpet style
Bridesmaid dresses: Chris's sister was the only bridesmaid. We ordered her dress from David's Bridal. It arrived on time and looked wonderful.
Caterer: Cravings Five Star Catering
Florist: We ordered peach tinted hydrangeas from fiftyflowers.com. We had them delivered to Eastholme the day before the wedding. The flowers arrived a little "sleepy", but we followed the directions and after a couple of hours they all perked up. They were absolutely beautiful.
Officiant: Reverend Calvin was great. Before the ceremony, he talked with each of us privately, and did a wonderful job at bringing a calming sensation to both of us.
Hair & Makeup: My makeup was done by Amie Carr. She did a wonderful job. http://bellamiemakeupartistry.com
