Monica & Ivin's Story
Ivin and I met at a prison (of all places) where we worked as officers. I personally couldn't stand working with him because he was far too conceded and knew everything! When we met, we were both married to other people. After about a year and a half, both of our marriages fell apart, mine before his and we began leaning on each other for support. Neither of us was looking for any relationship, we were just friends, but things just happened and he proposed after six months of dating.
Why did you select Eastholme?
As this was a second marriage for both of us, and 5 children between us, we didn't want a large wedding. We wanted something small and quant. We both loved the idea of being able to stay at the same location as the wedding site and the décor of Eastholme fit both our and our family's style. A lot less to worry about having everything at one location.
The ceremony was beautiful under the gazebo. The tables were set up around the patio leaving room to walk down the isle and dance after.
With so many children there was much fun dancing with them. The best highlight was surprising my father in law with a birthday cake!
What resources were most helpful to you? Deborah, she is absolutely amazing, and I wouldn't have been able to pull the wedding off without her!

Special Touches: When Ivin and I were taking pictures with our Photographer and Deborah noticed I needed more lip gloss. She rushed up to my room, grabbed it and brought it to me. Little details like that made our day amazing!!!
What made your wedding unique: Our wedding day is also my father-in-laws birthday so we had a cake made for him and had the DJ play Happy Birthday. He would have been surprised except our kids told the secret!
Memorable Moments: When my husband went to get my garter for the toss. He had a pair of "naughty" panties stuffed in his pocket. He made it look like he took off those instead of the garter and made the whole place laugh!
And, I wish I could put into words how Ken and Deborah made us feel. They did so much for us is many different avenues that it is a time we will never forget! And can't wait to go back!!
What Would You Do Different: I would not have wasted the money on hiring a wedding planner. We had already hired one when we found Eastholme which meant we were stuck. Ken and Deborah went above and beyond for us and by no means did they have to. I totally recommend Eastholme if you're looking for all inclusive. We used a lot of outside vendors, which if given the chance, I wouldn't have done that either. Ken and Deborah know what they're doing and they're fabulous!!!
