Your Story (How Did You Meet)
Tony and I met in 2003 at a local restaurant in Destin, FL called “Funky Blues Shack”. We talked for a while, but eventually I had to leave, unfortunately without exchanging numbers. A year later, I was on Thanksgiving break from Florida State University. I had gone with my sister to our favorite local hangout “Funky Blues Shack”. While sitting at the bar, I met Tony for the second time. It took a few minutes to recognize each other, but we quickly picked back up where we left off over a year earlier. We were inseparable after that, visiting back and forth from my school in Tallahassee and his home in Destin, FL. I eventually transferred schools to be closer to him and we have been together ever since.
Why did you select Eastholme?
I was looking for a small destination wedding that was all inclusive. I had helped plan my two best friends’ weddings and I realized I didn’t want all the stress involved with planning my own. We chose Colorado, because we vacation there every summer and we love the mountains. I loved that Eastholme could accommodate most of our families and I only had to send pictures of what I wanted and Deborah put it all together beautifully.
We had the ceremony outdoors in the gazebo and it was beautiful. I had 4 bridesmaids, 1 Jr. bridesmaid, 4 groomsmen, 1 Jr. groomsman, my flower girl, and ring bearer. The tables were already set up for dinner, so everyone was comfortable and were able to see everything.
The reception was also held outdoors and Eastholme and the caterers made it look amazing. The staff waited on Tony and me and made sure we were able to eat with everything else going on. It was nice to be able to enjoy our meal that we had planned, when so many other couples are too busy to eat.
Resources Most Helpful: The accommodations were extremely helpful; making sure our out of town guests could stay with us. The all inclusive wedding package was easy and turned out great. Being from Florida, it was nice that we could just send pictures of our flowers, cake, etc… and we didn’t have to worry about how it would turn out.
