How did you meet?
Craig & I met online. I was living out of state, he was living here in Colorado. We texted, emailed and chatted for weeks before I came out to Colorado for a visit. After that we were hooked. We traveled back and forth between Colorado and Ohio for a few months before I packed up everything and moved here to be closer to him. Craig proposed on July 4, 2009 while we were out for hike. He surprised me with the proposal when we stopped to eat our lunches. He reached into his backpack to pull out what I thought was a camera, but instead pulled out a ring box and asked me to marry him. We began planning immediately but plans changed when we found out that we were also expecting a baby. So we had to plan become parents along with planning our wedding!
Why did you select Eastholme?
We knew we wanted a small wedding with family and a few close friends so we began looking online for places that would accommodate our needs. We were excited to find that we could have a place for all of our guests to stay while in town for the wedding. We appreciated that everything was included in our package. We didn't know where to start and didn't want to scour through websites, and ads to find the right vendors for our wedding. Knowing that Eastholme provided vendors with impeccable credentials gave us a great feeling.
Catered menu included hamburgers, hot dogs, baked potato salad, calico beans for an old fashioned Colorado barbeque prepared by Buffalo Gals.
Our ceremony was outside in the gazebo. Anytime you plan a wedding outside you gamble with the weather. The weather held up during the ceremony. With a small wedding party and a small guest list it was easy to make the ceremony intimate. We achieved just that!
Originally the reception was supposed to be outside, but with the weather on the chilly side we decided to move the reception into the newly decorated dining room! It was just perfect. We had plenty of room for all of our guests. The food from Cravings was delicious. All of our guests raved about the food to us! We even had room for a little dancing! It was perfect and our guests agreed!

Your Favorite Detail/Special Touches
Instead of the usual guest book, we did a frame with our engagement picture for everyone to sign. Now we have the frame with our wedding picture hanging in our living room. We love being able to read all of the well wishes of our family and friends anytime we walk by the picture. We also had a table set up with a picture of 2 men who couldn't be there to enjoy our special day. Craig's grandfather and my Father, along with a poem.
What Made Your Wedding Unique
We had our at the time 2 month old baby girl come out as our "flower girl".
Having the weather go from rain, to sleet to sun all within a span of 1 minute during the ceremony! It made it unique and certainly memorable!
What Would You Do Different
Nothing! Everything was as it was supposed to be!
Your Advice to Couples Just Starting to Plan Their Wedding
Be prepared to compromise. We thought we wanted to have the reception outside, but after realizing the weather wasn't going to be what we envisioned we knew we had to move it inside. And after making that compromise we knew we had made the right decision. Also delegate, delegate, delegate! I am glad that I gave over some of the setting up to family and friends that I trusted. It made getting ready for the wedding easier, and they did an amazing job! I don't think I could have done any better myself!
Any Other Special Moments
Deborah is truly one of a kind! I knew we had made the right decision to have our wedding with Eastholme 2 days after we had our baby. Of all of our friends and family here in town, Deborah & Ken who we had only known at that point about 8 months came to see us in the hospital! That really touched me!
Right before I walked out for the ceremony, Deborah stopped me at the door. She fixed my veil told me to take a deep breath and proceeded to tear up! That showed me that she was more than just your average wedding planner. She became emotionally invested in our family and in our day. So I knew she would move heaven and earth to ensure our day was beyond special!
